Our Story

A boy and a girl There were two children who were born across the world and grew up to be complete independent individuals. Then we found each other and fell in love. We made each other braver and kinder. We support and inspire each other.

We walked into the forest, and climbed up the mountain, and ski down the hills. We took long road trips and slept under the stars. We visited continents and stood in awe in front of arts and history, of castles and monuments, of light and love.

We promised to commit to each other. We promised to build a life, a family, a community together. Our story wouldn’t be complete with our family and our community. Here’s to all of you!

Early on in the relationship, Kara - Linh’s niece - has a joking message to Aaron. She said, “I’ve heard a lot of nice things about you, but if you ever pass a red flag by her, I have a lot of rusty knives...” Lol So here's Aaron winning over Kara, and all of Linh's 9 nieces and nephews over with bbq evening and sleepover boardgames night and adventures like skiing and rock-climbing and Sea World roller-coaster rides...

So kids, Find yourself a man who makes cupcakes to welcome you back from a trip, makes cake to greet your mom, cooks you dinner on a tiring weeknight, puts on a feast for your friends and families, fixes the light, takes pictures of mountains and stars yet never fails to awe in front of your beauty.

Find yourself a woman who holds down the house while you’re pursuing your dreams, lets you take her hands to the tallest of mountains and the deepest of valleys, reminds you to call your parents and visit your family, sends air kisses because she knows you're missing her and take screenshots of your texts just to hold on to your messages while she’s missing you.

Our Tea Ceremony

In Vietnamese culture, marriage is more than the union of two people - it is also the joining of two families. In this spirit, we will be welcoming our close family and elders to our home for a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony where our families will formally meet, we will ask for our ancestors' blessings, and we will pay respects to our elders and parents. As we begin building our family together, what better place to start than where we come from? "Uống nước nhớ nguồn.Làm con phải hiếuCông cha như núi Thái SơnNghĩa mẹ như nước trong nguồn chảy ra." This is a beautiful traditional Vietnamese saying about gratitude and filial piety. "When you drink water, remember its source.As a child, you must be filialA father's labor is like Mount Thai SonA mother's love is like water flowing from its source."

Because the ceremony takes place in our home and is traditionally a small family gathering, attendance will be limited to close family and the wedding party. We are excited to celebrate with all of our guests later at the wedding ceremony and reception.

Tea Ceremony Attire:Ao Dai (Traditional Vietnamese dress) or Formal AttireNote to Bridesmaids and Groomspeople: Yours are taken care of, we'll reach out to you for your measurements directly.

Tea Ceremony Itinerary:1. Procession of the groom's family led by the groom's parents and elders, followed by the groom, groomspeople carrying gifts, and the rest of the groom's family.2. Exchange of gifts from groomspeople to bridesmaids outside the house3. Bride's family to welcome groom's family into the house4. Introductions of the two families to each other5. Unveiling of Gifts6. Ancestor prayer: the couple prays to their ancestors by presenting offerings at the family alter, seeking their blessings for a harmonious marriage7. Tea Ceremony: The couple serves tea to their parents as a sign of respect and gratitude. This ritual also symbolizes the joining of the two families8. Parents/ families give gifts to the couple - traditionally jewelries9. Speeches10. Ceremony followed by a Vietnamese lunch

Our Wedding Ceremony

Just as our Tea Ceremony celebrates Linh's Vietnamese heritage, our Wedding Ceremony celebrates Aaron's Jewish heritage. Together, these traditions reflect not only the union of two people, but the joining of two families and cultures. Our ceremony will incorporate many meaningful elements of a modern Jewish wedding, and we are honored that it will be officiated by the wonderful Rabbi Joshua Hoffman, one of Aaron's childhood rabbis. While rooted in tradition, our ceremony will also reflect the life Linh and Aaron are building together—bringing together family, culture, and community. Preliminary RitualsKinyan ("Contracts") – Before the ceremony, members of the wedding party will take part in the signing of the Ketubah, a Jewish marriage covenant reflecting the commitments Linh and Aaron are making to one another. Following the signing, Linh and Aaron will receive a parental blessing, a tradition that resonates deeply across both of our cultures. In both Jewish and Vietnamese traditions, honoring parents and elders is an essential part of beginning a new family. Beneath the Chuppah(Guest arrival – 5:30 PM | Ceremony begins – 6:00 PM)As guests arrive and gather among the trees, we will come together beneath the chuppah, the Jewish wedding canopy. Open on all sides, the chuppah symbolizes the home we will build together—welcoming family, friends, and community into the life we are creating. The ceremony will unfold through a series of meaningful traditions: a procession of family and loved ones, memorial and betrothal blessings, the exchange of rings and vows, the reading of our Ketubah, and the Sheva Brachot (“Seven Blessings”) celebrating love, joy, and the creation of a new family. These blessings connect generations past, present, and future, reminding us that a marriage is not only about two people, but also about the community that surrounds and supports them. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Aaron will break a glass beneath his foot, reminding us that even in moments of great joy we remember life’s fragility, and that love—like glass—should be cherished and never taken for granted. It also marks the joyful transition from ceremony to celebration… the moment when everyone is invited to shout “Mazel Tov!” Following the ceremony, we invite everyone to join us for a celebratory reception as the evening continues beneath the trees of our Forever Forest.

We’ve reserved a small room block at our main hotel and are working on adding a second hotel block. Traveler Welcome Event - 4/24/2026 - 7pmOld Stump BreweryWhile the role of the rehearsal event will be filled by our Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, we want to welcome our out- of-town guests (and all those who would like to make the trek out to Claremont) to our wedding weekend with a fun event on Friday night! In the spirit of making this a casual evening between the Tea Ceremony and The Big Day, we have booked a private room at a fun and on-theme brewery near the hotel called Old Stump Brewing Co. Food and drinks will be provided. Attire: Friday Night Casual

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Claremont is a short 9 min drive from our venue at Padua Hills Theatre. The hotel will also be providing a shuttle to and from Padua on the day of our wedding! UPDATE 3-12-2026: We have used up almost all of our initial block of rooms! The hotel was able to add a few more, but these will likely run out as well.
